![]() Assuming a $W^\prime$ boson with the same couplings as the Standard Model $W$ boson, $W^\prime$ masses below 5.1 TeV are excluded at the 95% confidence level. Search for a heavy composite Majorana neutrino in the nal state with two leptons and two quarks at p s 13TeV The CMS Collaboration Abstract A search for physics beyond the standard model in the nal state with two same- avour leptons (electrons or muons) and two quarks produced in proton-proton col-lisions at p s 13TeV is presented. As no excess of events above the Standard Model prediction is observed, the results are used to set upper limits on the $W^\prime$ boson cross-section times branching ratio to an electron or muon and a neutrino as a function of the $W^\prime$ mass. A search is performed for heavy neutrinos in the decay of a W boson into two muons and a jet. ![]() Heavy W bosons with masses less than 1.73. Existing limits are also improved on models in which the W boson decays preferentially to fermions of the third generation. A bstract We study the perspective to observe lepton number violating signatures from heavy Majorana neutrino decays at colliders in view of the requirement to explain the light neutrino. An interpretation of results within the sequential standard model excludes W boson masses below 4.0 TeV at 95 confidence level.
